Two favorites side by side on the Plaza Mayor, La Columna and La Balconada, which often makes it difficult to choose. 2- La Balconada

A great restaurant if you’re in the mood for some romance, with its small balconies overlooking the Plaza Mayor. With a varied menu, you can be assured that you won’t be disappointed. Try the morcillo, the Ibérico ham, and don’t forget the leche frita flambéed with Chinchón’s own anise liqueur. The cozy dining room creates an intimate atmosphere.

3- Mesón de la Virreina

This place has it all, you can relax on the terrace while enjoying the hustle and bustle of the Plaza Mayor. The dining rooms are cozy and decorated with nostalgic details, making you feel at home quickly. The meat is still prepared in the old roasting oven, and if you’re a fan of suckling pig or lamb, then this restaurant is highly recommended.

4- La Villa

A perfect place for a well-deserved cup of coffee at the bar or a glass of wine with delicious tapas. It’s great to sit in the shade under the arcades on the terrace, especially during the summer. La Villa has a unique menu and a wonderful view of the Plaza Mayor, where your attention will be drawn to all the tasty dishes and, of course, the church silently watching.

5 – La Casa del Pregonero

An elegant restaurant with a homely atmosphere, thanks to the many plants and beautifully decorated tables, on the Plaza Mayor. Where Miriam Hernández, the first woman in Madrid, has received an award for her involvement in local products. Let your taste buds be stimulated and convinced that she has indeed taken over from the Michelin-starred chefs.

6 – Mesón Cuevas del Vino

Be surprised by the unique ambiance, where many celebrities have preceded you. The tables are located in an old farmhouse, where the tools for pressing grapes and olives are still present. And not to mention the surprising wine cellars that this Mesón has to offer. Go back in time and taste the rural life here, which is reflected in your meal and in the atmosphere.

7 – La Recua del Pelicano

A cozy, friendly atmosphere prevails in this small restaurant, where you can also enjoy a drink at the bar. The only downside is that they have limited opening hours, so if the opportunity arises, seize it. La Recua del Pelicano shares its door with the gallery of Dutch artist Anemi Moolhuijsen, where you can take a look without obligation.

8 – La Tahona

La Tahona is a good choice. You can enjoy a delicious “solomillo” on the terrace overlooking the Plaza Mayor. And if you’re lucky, the singing waiter will entertain you, always a funny experience. It is said that the kitchen is the same as Café de la Iberia, which is another restaurant located nearby, but many people are more charmed by La Tahona.

The outlier, in terms of location, as it is not in Chinchón itself, but what a gem! Here, you can indulge in a 6-course menu or have a bite and a drink at the studio. In the summer, it’s delightful as the terrace is situated in a courtyard, and misting is turned on for extra cooling. The patio is a green and cozy place with a beautiful fig tree. The pizzas, burgers, and meal salads are highly recommended and freshly prepared.
